Gwyneth Paltrow has been a fixture in the Hollywood beauty scene for almost 20 years, a number that's legitimately hard to believe. And while a chameleon-like ability to change is required of an actress, it's not a necessity in regards to their personal life, hence a Paltrow who's made a much-copied, laid-back California vibe her beauty signature. She's also made it easy for her aesthetic devotees to get a bit of her magic too, by working with Juice Beauty as its Creative Director, Makeup. Here, she shares beauty secrets that are just as Gwyneth as you'd hope for (spoiler: never underestimate the power of a good steam).
Simplicity is key.
"I'm quite a tomboy at heart. On a normal day I don't wear any makeup, but if I have a dinner in the evening I'll put on some mascara and a little cheek color. My hair is very thick and wavy, so when it's damp and drying I take it in sections and twist it to encourage the wave, but not the volume."

Make your water smarter.
"I drink so much water and always have, but I'm always dehydrated. I've been doing research about mineralizing water and adding Himalayan sea salt to it to help with absorption. It doesn't taste amazing, but it really mineralizes the water and makes a big difference."

"Juice Beauty makes an algae face mask, and if I'm on a really long flight I'll put it on while I'm watching a movie. It's really brilliant, made with organic ingredients, and very hydrating. I just sit there looking a little weird on the plane. I also always travel with a bottle of colloid silver which I spray under my tongue and on the airplane seat because they say it wards off germs. I always take a bunch of vitamin C, and I buy multiple bottles of water before I get on the plane."

When I land after a long flight, if there's a pool at the hotel I'll swim and do cardio, then take a hot steam or sit in a sauna and that really sorts me out. Feeling good means looking good.
"For me, exercise is a really big part of feeling and looking good: doing cardiovascular exercise every day and having a big sweat five days a week. I always think, 'How can I optimize how I feel internally?' I have a little infrared sauna at my house that's amazing. I try to do it three times a week—it's a huge detoxifier and definitely a beauty trick. The lower the toxic load you're carrying, the better you feel and the better you look. I also think it's really important to be surrounded by people you really love who inspire you. Then you feel happy and content and beautiful, even if you have wrinkles."
