The Whitney Museum of American Art’s annual Art Party returned to New York City on January 28, bringing together a crowd of rising artists and prominent figures from the fashion, art, business, and entertainment industries for a night of dancing and art. Hosted by the Whitney Contemporaries, the disco-themed fundraiser featured DJ sets by The Muses and Jenny Albright, specialty cocktails by Maestro Dobel Tequila, and an exclusive look at the museum’s current exhibitions.
Guests—including Cynthia Rowley, Julia Haart, Emily Hampshire, Jessel Taank, and Natalie De’Banco—gathered at the downtown museum in ’70s-inspired attire. The event, which raises funds for the Whitney’s Independent Study Program, also offered attendees a final chance to explore Edges of Ailey, the museum’s exhibition on renowned choreographer Alvin Ailey, before its closing on February 9.
The event was supported by co-chairs Steven Beltrani, Micaela Erlanger, Alexander Hankin, Christine Sun Kim, and Tabboo!. The host committee also featured industry names including Claire Stern Milch, Cynthia Rowley, Salman Toor, JiaJia Fei, Sarah Harrelson, Dani Kwateng, Kevin LeBlanc, Ernesto Macias, and Justin Moran, among others.
