How do you prepare for a big tennis tournament? If you’re four-time Grand Slam singles champion Naomi Osaka, you jet off to Barcelona for Louis Vuitton’s cruise 2025 show. Before the French Open kicks off on May 26, she took approximately 24 hours off her rigorous training schedule to check out Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest collection in the iconic Park Güell, with views overlooking the city, and casually sat next to Ava DuVernay. “It had been a while since we’d seen each other so it was nice to catch up,” Osaka, who flew in and out of the city on the same day, tells ELLE.com. Here, she takes us along as she prepares her sparkly look for her glamorous night out in Spain.
On the flight to Barcelona. I had never been before so was excited to visit, but I had to fly in and out on the same day since the French Open starts next week. So, it was a quick trip!
The stylist brought me multiple options from Louis Vuitton, but I knew immediately that I wanted to wear this skirt. It was the first thing that caught my eye on the rack.
I really love the sparkle and the mix of sequins, tiny fringe details, and ruffles. The hemline was also super cool.
LV was so sweet to give me a new bag to wear to the show.
It’s my new favorite and it worked perfectly with the skirt and sweater.
The venue felt like we had stepped into a dream. Everything was magical and the architecture was really beautiful and different than anything I had seen before.
