Timothée Chalamet lost the Best Actor Oscar to The Brutalist’s Adrien Brody last night, but he was immediately comforted by his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, who sat right behind him. (Jenner had switched seats with Chalamet’s mom, Nicole Flender, before the category was announced so the mother-son duo could share the big Oscar moment together.)
E! shared footage of Chalamet turning around to Jenner, who kissed him after he lost.
Jenner and Chalamet were also photographed kissing before the ceremony started. They kept close after the awards show too, posing together at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
Ahead of the Oscars, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Jenner was looking forward to supporting her partner at the Academy Awards. “Kylie and Timothée are very in love, and their relationship is serious,” the source said. “Kylie is very proud of Timothée and has been happy to support him throughout this awards season. She’s hoping to attend the Oscars with Timothée. She admires how talented and hardworking he is.”
Two years into dating Chalamet, Jenner is in it for the long haul. In late January, a source told Us Weekly that Jenner would marry Chalamet in the future, but they “are in no rush.”
The insider added, “This is a very different relationship dynamic than what Kylie is used to. [It’s] opened her eyes to the more artistic side of the industry.”
Jenner has enjoyed rooting for her partner throughout awards season, the source said: “Timothée is very focused on his career, and Kylie loves being on the sidelines cheering him on. She loves that he’s in the spotlight more than her. It’s been a breath of fresh air.”
