Getting a fringe is no small feat. It's a statement to say the least, and the cut that suits you best will heavily depend on your face shape and current hair length, whether that be a graphic full fringe or a wispy A-line style. They're a nightmare to grow out if you suddenly decide you detest them, too. However, putting horrifying childhood haircuts aside, a well trimmed set of curtains can be the chicest addition to any hairstyle and it can completely transform your overall look.
One thing to note is that, much like bobs and pixie cuts, fringes go in and out of style. One minute, side bangs are the ultimate it-girl accessory, the next they're banished to the beauty icons of 2014. It's difficult to keep up, we admit. Luckily, professional hairdressers make a living from these choppy choices, and we have them on hand to guide us through the season's trending cuts.
Whether you're a long-haired blonde or sporting a choppy bob, these are the best fringe styles for spring 2025.

Birkin Bangs
The best fringe of 2025 so far undeniably goes to Daisy Edgar-Jones, whose wispy cool girl cut has garnered endless allure online. Long gone are the days of the chunky Normal People full fringe, however - today, it's all about the 'Birkin bangs'.
'This look is quintessentially French in style, with natural appeal and a little wispy in texture,' says hairdresser and Amika styling partner, Tobias Bell. 'This fringe sits perfectly with long tousled hair, giving it a bohemian vibe.'
In the midst of growing out a textured French bob? This accompanying tousled frame could be perfect for you.
'These are wispy, eyelash-grazing bangs with a lived-in edge,' says hairdresser and Babyliss ambassador Syd Hayes. 'They're best air -dried or blow-dried with the Babyliss Air Wand using the volume attachment. Note, they work especially well on longer or oval faces.'
The Modern Micro Fringe
If you're still thinking about Lady Gaga's Coachella performance, there's a chance her eye-catching micro fringe is also on your mind.
'Also known as baby bangs, the micro fringe is extremely short and sits well above the eyebrows,' says Hayes. 'It is a sharp blunt shape often with a graphic line or slightly feathered finish. They work really well on oval or heart shaped faces, and can be seen on celebrities such as Zoe Kravitz or Rooney Mara.'
The most important styling tip to remember is that unlike other bangs, the micro fringe works best when it's kept sleek and flat. Alternatively, use a matte texturising product like Evo Box O’ Bollox Texture Paste to create a separated look, says Hayes. 'You can also use a straightening iron like the Babyliss super styler to make it sleek and shiny.'
The Bardot Arched Fringe
A continuation of the curtain bang craze, the 'Bardot arched fringe' is another statement cut on Bell's trend list.
'This fringe is best cut using a razor for a softer and more textured look, then tapered at the edges to really frame the face,' he says. 'This fringe is so timeless and relatively low maintenance. It looks best with a 60s flicky blow-dry and a roller in the fringe to create volume, or styled a little more effortlessly.'
The finishing touch? A spritz of Amika Rising Star Volumizing Finishing Spray for a lived in tousle.
'Heaviness and shape is the key to this style,' adds Mathilde Heather, Kérastase ambassador and founder of The Suite. 'It works especially well for round, heart shaped face types.'
