ITV's 2012 drama Mrs Biggs has found new life on Netflix, climbing the streaming charts and captivating audiences with its raw portrayal of love, crime, and consequence. Starring powerhouse performances courtesy of Sheridan Smith and Daniel Mays, this five-part series (that's based on a true story) proves that some stories only get better with time.
What is Mrs Biggs about?
Written by Jeff Pope, Mrs Biggs tells the extraordinary true story of Charmian Biggs, whose chance encounter with charming criminal Ronnie Biggs on a London train changed everything. What begins as a whirlwind romance — complete with an elopement to Devon against her father's wishes — evolves into a decades-spanning saga of loyalty tested by the Great Train Robbery of 1963.
This isn't your typical crime drama, however. Rather than focussing on the heist itself, the series dives deep into the emotional wreckage left behind, exploring how Charmian navigates life as the wife of Britain's most wanted man.
